This is a unique town property set in the top part of the small pretty Cretan town of Neapolis, Agios Nikolaos, Lasithi, Crete.
The house is within a gated private plot of land of 230 square meters.
It stands on two floors and oozes character and style.

A wooden gate allows entrance into the stone paved and walled front yard.

On the left of the entrance is a marble and stone clad faucet and there are stone doors left and right to the various rooms as well as a fully mature mandarin tree in the middle of the yard.

The house consists of a very large living room on the ground floor which leads to an open plan kitchen/diner with its own storage room. Two more bedrooms on the ground floor, one with an ensuite bathroom. There is also a small utility room for a washing machine and storage.

A large wooden staircase leads up to the top floor where there is another large living room with access to a large balcony. There is space on this floor to easily make one more large bedroom, which could be ensuite to the bathroom that is already in place. This would in no way compromise the very generous proportions of the living room.

The third double bedroom with ensuite bathroom is in the courtyard of the house with its own entrance ? ideal for guests.

The house is in need of some modernization, but is indeed in a very good state considering the years it has been inactive.
There is a large solar panel providing for free hot water for most of the year.
There is central heating installed in the house (small boiler room in yard) using an oil boiler.

 

Neapoli is a small but very lively town only a 10 minute drive from the tourist town of Agios Nikolaos, Crete.
There are dozens of shops, restaurants, cafes and amenities in the town as well as a hospital.

The international airport of Heraklion is less than a 30 minute drive from Neapolis.

 

Agios Nikolaos is the capital of the county Lasithi and is located at the Mirabello Bay, north-east Crete.

Geographically the town is well protected from strong winds allowing sea sports and swimming nearly all year round.

Although Agios Nikolaos has a population of less than 20,000 it has several banks, supermarkets, shops of every kind, doctors, a modern hospital of high standard, public swimming pool and tennis courts, yacht marina, harbour, cinema, theatre, gyms, a 9-hole golf course, schools ranging from nurseries to 6-level high school and generally all the amenities you would expect to find in a modern European town.

The micro-climate is one of the best in Greece and the moderate temperatures rarely exceed 30c in summer or fall below 15c in wintertime. This wonderful dry climate together with the natural beauty of the area has attracted most of the high class hotels of Greece to operate here.
